چکیده

How to evaluate the performance of decision-making units (DMUs) with fixed-sum outputs is a timely and challenging question in data envelopment analysis (DEA). Two major challenges are (1) how determine common equilibrium efficient frontier (2) deal multiple feasible frontiers. This paper first uses simple dataset illustrate possibility frontiers corresponding differences DMUs’ efficiencies rankings resulting from these We address by considering all develop several models obtain efficiency intervals, ranking intervals dominance relations for DMUs outputs. proposed approach two numerical examples show that it gives more informative results than previous DEA approaches. For example, there interesting between under outputs; yet do not exist when no In addition, ranges can be narrowed accounting policy suggestions such as adjustment constraints DMUs.

Ranking Intervals and Dominance Relations for Ratio-Based Efficiency Analysis

We develop comparative results for ratio-based efficiency analysis (REA), based on the decision making units’ (DMUs’) relative efficiencies over sets of feasible weights that characterize preferences for input and output variables. Specifically, we determine (i) ranking intervals which indicate the best and worst efficiency rankings that a DMU can attain relative to other DMUs, (ii) dominance r...

Ranking of decision making units based on cross efficiency by undesirable outputs and uncertainity

Cross efficiency is one of the useful methods for ranking of decision making units (DMUs) in data envelopment analysis (DEA). Since the optimal solutions of inputs and outputs weights are not unique so the selection of them are not simple and the ranks of DMUs can be changed by the difference weights. Thus, in this paper, we introduce a method for ranking of DMUs which does not have a unique pr...

Computing the efficiency interval of decision making units (DMUs) having interval inputs and outputs with the presence of negative data

The basic assumption in data envelopment analysis patterns (DEA) (such as the CCR andBCC models) is that the value of data related to the inputs and outputs is a precise andpositive number, but most of the time in real conditions of business, determining precisenumerical value is not possible in for some inputs or outputs. For this purpose, differentmodels have been proposed in DEA for imprecis...

Common weights for the evaluation of decision-making units with nonlinear virtual inputs and outputs

In this paper, by investigating the common weights concept and DEA models with nonlinear virtual inputs/outputs, we introduce a model for evaluating the decision making units with nonlinear virtual inputs and outputs based on the common weights.

Measuring the efficiency of decision making units

A nonlinear (nonconvex) programming model provides a new definition of efficiency for use in evaluating activities of not-for-profit entities participating in public programs. A scalar measure of the efficiency of each participating unit is thereby provided, along with methods for objectively determining weights by reference to the observational data for the multiple outputs and multiple inputs...
